A message from the Head

Welcome to the part of the website that will tell you what goes on in the Pre-Prep at Eagle House.

What an exciting place it is! Catering for children from rising three to seven years old, the Pre-Prep is a hive of activity and fun. We have a lovely, self-contained Nursery (see the separate section on the Nursery to find out all about it) and a nearby area for Reception, Year 1 and Year 2. There are two classes in each year group and we take a maximum of 18 children in each class. There are classroom assistants in each year group. Our aim is for the children to learn in an environment that is safe, stimulating and fun. We stress the need for good manners, consideration for others and helpfulness. Our ethos is based on the six Golden Rules. By instilling these rules into the children, we believe we will be well on the way to producing children who have respect for others, a willingness to help and an awareness of the responsibility they have for their own actions. All of this is developed in a firm but supportive atmosphere where children can develop self-confidence and a love of learning.

Children needing to stay after school are catered for in our Late Stay, where tea, followed by activities and games, ensure they are happily occupied until home time.

Continuity of staff ensures that all the children and their families are well known to us and we pride ourselves on our welcoming family atmosphere - something that is often commented on by visitors to the school!
