We believe in recognising and rewarding the effort children make in order to improve their behaviour and work. Golden Time is a weekly opportunity to reward the children for keeping the six Golden Rules that form the basis of our code of conduct. It consists of a choice of activities that are regarded as treats by the children, for example feeding the ducks, walking in the woods, playing with the parachute or watching a video. Linked with this positive ethos of recognising good behaviour, we award badges for work effort and helpfulness, certificates for exemplary playground behaviour and children who have been trying hard in the dining room may be invited on to the Golden Table for lunch.
The Golden Rules are:
1. Do be kind and helpful - don't hurt people's feelings
2. Do be gentle - don't hurt anyone
3. Do listen - don't interrupt
4. Do work hard - don't waste your or other people's time
5. Do be honest - don't cover up the truth
6. Do look after property - don't waste or damage things
