Events

Throughout the year we have various visits and functions in the department.

In our last academic year (2010 - 2011) we performed a studio performance of Macbeth , held the annual Poetry Speaking Competition and several theatre trips to see Matilda at the RSC Stratford, and Lord of the Flies at the Open Air Theatre Regent's Park and the Woman in Black at The Fortune Theatre in London.

2010 saw the first Eagle House Children's Literature Festival .  This was a week of events all dedicated to reading with Britain's top authors taking part. Go to Festival to find out more and read the Festival Blog.

Anthologies

We have started to put together anthologies of children's work.  Three volumes have been released so far.  Eagle House's poetry and creative writing now have a public voice!

2009 saw us returning to The Wilde Theatre to perform Seussical, based on the works of Dr Seuss.  Over 80 cast members and a big stage crew took part in this great show.

The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe was the big show in March 2008 and for the first time we held our performances at The Wilde Theatre, South Hill Park. 50 cast and at least 25 backstage crew helped to make this one of our most successful productions to date.  Go to The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe to find out more.

The Magical Voyage of Ulysses by John Wiles was March 2007's show and a cast of 75 children told the amazing story that charts the journey home of Odysseus after the battle of Troy. The show was a great success and if you'd like to read more and see some images of the show click here: The Magical Voyage of Ulysses

In March 2006 our big school production was Return to the Forbidden Planet (click on the title to find a review and photographs) by Bob Carlton.    It was a huge success and the Assembly Hall rocked!
