Why English at Eagle House is FANTASTIC! See for yourself and click on the icons below.
I joined Eagle House in 1997 and in that time have had the pleasure of leading the English Department. I am passionate about English and especially enjoy the creative side of the subject. As an avid reader of children’s fiction I can safely say that we are in the most exciting, varied and enriching phase that junior literature has ever seen. Combined with my English role I have also directed several school productions over the last few years, ranging from William Golding’s Lord of the Flies to Alan Parker’s Bugsy Malone. Drama is my great love and as a frustrated actor the children have to put up with a great deal! Poetry in performance has been one of my great loves and at Eagle House all children get the opportunity to experience the joys of bringing words to life. I hope we try to inspire all our boys and girls and if they leave with a love of the language, I’m happy.
