National Prep Schools Cross Country Championships, Malvern College Sunday 6th March 2011
Results:
U11 Boys team 10th out of 38 teams
U11 Girls team 21st out of 30 teams
U13 Boys team 15th out of 24 teams
This is always a great event to attend and it was a pity for a variety of reasons we could not take a full strength squad. Nevertheless those that took part ran very well and gave their all for Eagle House.
The U11 Girls team: Tilda-Rose Kneen, Zara Anichebe, Amy Rickard and Louisa Atherton. The girls ran well in what was a fast and very competitive race. The distance of 1700 m was covered quickly and all our runners did well with Tilda and Louisa finishing in the top 30.

The U11 Boys team: Toby Robinson, Daniel Salter, Harry Waters, Ben Howard, Jamie Lunnon, Alex McClelland. The boys ran a good race that again was quick out of the start. Unfortunately two of our team were pushed at the start and fell. This meant some serious catching up to do. Ben (a faller at the first) made up ground tremendously and finished well. Jamie Lunnon was superb today and ran the race of his life. All runners proved that they were up to the challenge and they should feel proud of their achievement today.

The U13 Boys team: Adam Robinson, Charlie Waters, Robert Phillips, Dominic Atherton, William Rowlands. The longest course of the faternoon was the U13 Boys. 3600 m of it, and half uphill! The commitment of the runners was impressive. Adam came 4th, an outstanding achievement. Charlie and Robert finished well and Dominic and Will pushed hard and were both in the top half of runners in the field.

Winning is nice but taking part and pushing yourself to the limit is also good and our runners can be proud of what they have all done. I would like to thank Malvern College for all their hard work and excellent organisation and to the Eagle House parents who came to support. It was great to see so many people showing an interest in running. Well done and thank you.
Eagle House Prep School Meeting Thursday 3rd February 2011
This is the biggest sporting event we hold for runners aged 7 - 13. 12 races in total and well over 500 children compete. The day couldn't have been better with the sun shining and the course quite dry, compared to the very mushy conditions that sometimes arise. We had a total 72 runners in teams and all runners deserve many congratulations.
Highlights were Adam Robinson winning the U13 Boys race and Georgina Walton coming 3rd in the U13 Girls race. The U10 Girls who won the team event and collected a trophy ran a great team race. There were so many other great individual performances and the pictures below will give you a flavour of the afternoon. Thanks to the many people helped make the event a success.

Inter Schools Cross Country Championships at Wellington College Saturday 22nd January 2011

Team
U13 Girls - Caitlyn Earwaker
U13 Boys - Dominic Atherton, Jono Foster, Robert Phillips
U15 Girls - Arabella Nunn, Coco Thompson, Georgina Walton
U15 Boys - Adam Robinson, Charlie Waters
This fixture is the first outing for a few runners from Eagle House and it is one of the most testing. All nine runners can be very pleased with their performance and their efforts bode well for the season.
Caitlyn began the afternoon and ran very well in the U13 Girls race. She came 11th out of a field of well over 60 runners. She kept up with the front pack for the whole 2.5 km and it was an impressive run.
Jono, Dominic and Robert were out from the start very quickly in the U13 Boys race and they all dug deep and ran very well over the 3.5 km course. Jono gave a career best and came in 10th with Dominic and Robert not far behind. All three boys deserve much credit.
Adam and Charlie took to the field in the U15 Boys race. This is a tough race, not only as it is 4.5 km long but also because the race combines Years 8 & 9 runners. Adam ran a great race keeping up with the leaders and finishing in 4th place. A tremendous achievement. Charlie ran hard and finished in the 20s. Both boys ran with guts and should be proud of themselves. Adam qualified for the English Schools Championships later in the season.
Finally Georgina, Coco and Arabella represented us in the U15 Girls race. Like the boys they were running against Year 9s. Over the 3.5 km course they ran very well, keeping up a good pace throughout the race. Georgina finished in 19th place with Arabella and Coco coming a few places behind. On this cold afternoon and without lots of running behind them their performance was impressive.
Well done to the team. They demonstrated commitment and desire and ran very well in what was a top class field.
