Under 13/and Under 12 Girls v Yateley Manor Monday 17th May This was the first tennis match for this group of girls and a first outing with their partner. The matches were played to a short set against their own rated couple and then a tiebreakor short set against the couple higher or lower than them. Despite the scores there were some evely matched games especially the second couple of Georgie and Coco who finally lost 6-5 after numerous deuce and advantage play. Unfortunately a YM player fell nastily on the courts so their game had to be abandoned. Arabella and Maria were a force to be reckoned with demonstrating some great shots from the baseline and comimg uip for the volley. Well done to all the team. Arabella & Maria Won 6-0, 7-0 Georgie & Coco Lost 5-6, Won 7-5 Charlotte & Alex Abandoned 4-2, Won 6-0 Kim & Sophie Won 6-1 Kitty & Menna Won 6-0, 5-1 Jemima & Jenny Won 6-1, 3-1(time ran out)
U9 Boys and Girls & U13 boys v Bishopsgate Tuesday 18 May 2010
This meeting gave us our first tennis matches of the season and were our U9s' first ever matches. The U9 girls played on a short and thin court to short tennis rules. The U9 boys played on a thin but normal length court to a mix of normal and short rules. The U13 boys played normal rules on a normal doubles court. All matches were timed games. The U9A girls team lost their matches 7-2 and 7-3 The U9B girls won a match 7-5 and lost one 7-6 The U9A boys lost 7-2, 7-2 The U9B boys lost 7-3 and 7 - 5 The U13 A boys team won both their matches, 4 - 1 and 3 - 2 The U13 B boys narrowly lost their mathes 3 - 4 and 2 - 3. Well done to you all for a very good competitive spirit and positive attitude throughout. |
