U13 Team Captain
Well done girls for a good season. You have been a positive team to work with, you have worked hard and shown great potential for the future.
Wednesday 27th June V Highfield
Lost 16-8
Unfortunately, in the last game of our season, we met a very strong U13 side. In the first innings, we were a little shell shocked by the power with which the Highfield girls hit the ball and our fielding was sloppy. In bat we also learnt, very quickly, that if we didn't hit the ball the likelyhood of being out at first was high! The Eagle House girls got much tougher in the second innings and fought back hard. However, it wasn't enogh to get us back into the game. Francesca scored a few vital rounders and Georgina was voted woman of the match for her athletic fielding and hard hitting.

U11 Captain and woman of the Waverley match
Wednesday 13th June U11/10 vs. Waverley
Won 14 ½ - 8 ½
This was a really exciting match. The batting was excellent from both teams but eagle House were ‘in the zone’ with their fielding; it was slick, generally very accurate and extremely quick. Eagle House were always in charge of the game scoring 8 rounders in their first innings to Waverley’s 2. They then piled on the rounders in the second innings. Ella and Sophie were top scorers with 3 ½ rounders each. The U10s did themselves proud and the team played excellently together. Waverley got very exciting about the prospect of getting close to our score but just couldn’t hit it far enough to get through our field. Congratulations girls, a great win.
Woman of the match this week
Wednesday 23rd May v St Neot’s
Won 18 ½ - 11
This was a closely fought game in many ways! Eagle House batted well in the first innings scoring eight rounders. Our fielding was much tighter than in previous games and we kept St Neot’s down to six rounders for their thirty balls. Sophie, Georgina and Frankie were the batting stars of the second innings scoring nine rounders between them. A focussed spell in the field produced an excellent victory. Ella was voted as woman of the match for her tireless work as back-stop. I was very proud of the girls for their team spirit and resolve to keep engaged and do their best on a hot and tricky afternoon!

Woman of the match
Wednesday 16th May v Yateley Manor
Lost 10½ - 11
This was an extremely close game where noone could afford to make any mistakes. We went into bat first and although we could have hit a few more rounders we were pretty pleased. Georgina scored four of our rounders. A few slips in our fielding meant that at half time Yateley Manor were winning 5½ - 7½. We were much sharper in the second innings. Georgina continued to bat well but unfortunately we were all out with five balls left. Our fielding improved with everyone concentrating hard. Francesca, Ella, Amrita and Frankie took some fabulous catches but unfortunately it wasn't enough to save the match with Yateley Manor winning by just ½ a rounder! Georgina was voted woman of the match.

Well done girls a fabulous effort against a team of Year 8s with our team mainly being Year 6s!
Wednesday 8th May U11 v White House
Won 18 rounders - 13 rounders
The Year 6 girls were joined by Year 5's Imogen, Alex and Ashleigh to play against the White House. Their team was quite inexperienced in the field but very good hitters. Eagle House batted well in the first innings scoring 10 rounders. It took us a little while to settle down when fielding as the team hadn't practiced together. However, Sophie, Imogen, Ella and Alex demonstrated some fantastic catching to get the opposition out for 6. Eagle House went on to win. Alex scored 5 rounders and Sophie scored six rounders, agian taking the title of 'woman of the match'. Well done to all. This was an extremely close game where noone could afford to make any mistakes. Wednesday 2nd May v St Joseph's
Won 20 rounders - 3 rounders
Eagle House girls had a fantastic game looking much slicker than their opposition right from the start. We had had an excellent training match on Monday, where the presence of Mr Edwards and his video camera produced some more focused batting and fielding. This had given the more inexperienced members of the team greater confidence; there was a great team spirit! Eagle House fielded first getting the whole of the St Joseph's team out for 2 rounders with just 14 balls. We scored 10 rounders in our first batting innings with Georgina hitting three of them. A slight rearrangement of the team was in order to give St Joseph's a fighting chance. However, again we bowled them out in 14 balls for just 1 rounder. More skilful batting topped up our score to 20. Sophie was top scorer with 4 rounders and she was also made woman of the match by St Joseph's. Woman of the match In action
Wednesday 25th April v St Andrew's Pangbourne
Lost 15½ rounders - 16 rounders
We went into bat first since we lost the toss. This was a very exciting and close first match of the season where everyone tried their best. Jemima (captain) scored 5 rounders, Frankie scored 3½, Sophie scored 2½ Georgina scored 2 rounders and Amy scored ½. We also gained a few rounders from no-balls and obstructions. Our fielding good but our batting could have been better in the second innings. It all came down to the last ball where St Andrew's needed a half rounder to win. Unfortunately they scored it!!
