                                              U10 Rounders Teams

Wednesday 27th June

U10A V Highfield

Won 11-8

Highfield managed to put 4 rounders on the board in the 1st innings with some accurate batting and a couple of misfeeds on our part. EH were in for a shock when they were all out after 25 balls due to high hitting and some swift fielding from the opposition. The 2nd innings told a different story!  A different team altogether took the field with the girls dismissing the first 3 batters with 2 excellent catches from Charlotte and  Alex and then a fielding & stumping from Imogen and Kimberley. This buoyed the team who were then positive in fielding, & when it was their turn to bat approached thatalso with equal enthusiasm. The final score was a terrific win for this team - well done!

Wednesday 13th June U11/10 vs. Waverley

Won 14 ½ - 8 ½

This was a really exciting match.  The batting was excellent from both teams but eagle House were ‘in the zone’ with their fielding; it was slick, generally very accurate and extremely quick.  Eagle House were always in charge of the game scoring 8 rounders in their first innings to Waverley’s 2.  They then piled on the rounders in the second innings.  Ella and Sophie were top scorers with 3 ½ rounders each.  The U10s did themselves proud and the team played excellently together.  Waverley got very exciting about the prospect of getting close to our score but just couldn’t hit it far enough to get through our field.  Congratulations girls, a great win.

Wednesday 13th May vs. St Neots

U10B Won 9 – 7 ½

The girls played excellently again managing to keep their narrow lead throughout the match.  Alys and Yuna hit some great shots, helping the team to pick up some well deserved rounders.

Jaya and Suzanne were voted players of the match for their back stop and bowler/2nd base positions.

Wednesday 6th June vs. The Oratory 6th June

U10B Won 13 – 11 ½

The whole team played exceptionally well in both batting and fielding.  Cara and Romy stumped many of the opposition out at 1st and 2nd bases and Alys was very proficient at back stop.  Eliza bowled very consistently and also scored 3 ½ rounders.  Jaya was voted player of the match yet again after scoring 4 rounders in total.

Wednesday 16th May V Yateley Manor

U10A Lost 8½ - 15½

Eagle House were batting first and were slow to score any rounders in the first innings. Some tactical ‘donkey drop’ bowling from the opposition made it difficult for the girls to make contact with the ball in addition to some tight fielding from Yateley Mannor. Charlotte, Ashleigh and Alex scoring some needed half rounders in the 1st innings.

The partnership between Stephanie at backstop and Imogen at 1st base is ever-improving and they took 4 wickets together. Eagle House lost the 1st innings 9.5 to 2.5 but came back to win the second inning’s 6 to 5.5. Kim was voted player of the match for her play at 2nd base and scoring 1.5 rounders.

U10B Won 7 – 6 ½

The girls were at a disadvantage from the start, by having one less player than Yateley Manor.  However we won the toss and Suzanne decided to field first.  Once batting the girls took the lead and managed to maintain this throughout both innings, despite the other team having an extra fielder.

The girls all played well and Jaya was yet again voted player of the match.

Tuesday 8th May U10 V The White House

Won

Wednesday 2nd May

U10A V St Joseph's

Won 31 - 20

U10B V St Joseph's

Won 24-17

The girls played brilliantly again with a clear win; especially as we had a few team changes.  Jaya was voted player of the match with her infallible back-stop skills and there was some great fielding teamwork with the opposition stumped out at all bases.

Tanaquille, Beth, Suzanne and Yuna hit some great shots and scored many rounders.

April 25th 2007

U10A vs St Andrew's

Lost St Andrews 19.5 Eagle House 14

This was the first match of the season and Eagle House travelled away to St Andrews. Charlotte as captain won the toss so chose to field first. St Andrews had some fine batters and we gave away too many rounders due to fielding errors early on.  Rosie bowled well and Immy was solid at 2nd base.

We lost the 1st innings 12-6 however Ellie and Kim scored some fine rounders.

The second innings was much closer and Stephanie played well at back stop. Eagle House improved as the game went on and St Andrews only scored 7.5 rounders in their second innings. Eagle House won the 2nd innings by half a rounder and Eliza and Alex both scored vital half rounders.

A good first game with lots to work on for next week.

U10B rounders vs. St Andrew’s

Drew 14 ½ all

The girls played really well, and all had improved greatly.  There was some brilliant fielding by Cara, who stumped many of the opposition out at second base.  On the batting front Yuna and Ashleigh both scored three rounders and Ashleigh was eventually voted player of the match.
