Wednesday 5th March

Under 11A Netball  v The Oratory     Won  13 - 10

What’s that saying……..’What a difference a day makes’

The team that played against the Oratory could not catch the ball, played each others position and had little or no body control.  The afternoon’s match, which the girls did win,  was a very poor rehearsal for the IAPS at Port Regis the following day. There is not much I can say about this game except I knew full well that this team were capable of much greater things.

Under 11 Netball Tournament Sat 2nd February @ Queen Anne’s

3rd Place

What a fantastic morning, I felt so proud to be their coach. The girls played with enthusiasm and skill, moving the ball with fluidity down the court. Charlotte and Immy created space for each other by using their support around the circle to gain an improved shooting position with Steffi and Suzanne providing them with accurate passes. The defence team of Ashleigh and Kimberley were a great trial to the opposition, closely defending the shooters, so causing the attack to make the wrong pass. Rosie moved quickly away from the circle in response to a rebound and so providing that vital link up the court. A special mention must be made of the reserve Eliza who fully supported the team throughout the morning and was ready to take up any position had the occasion occurred.

Well done to all the team!

Round 1   v Highfield won 5 -2, v Norman Court won 5 – 2, v St Hilarys won 7 – 2

Round 2   v Cheam lost 5-6, v Lambrook Haileybury won 7 – 5, v St Hilary’s lost 5 -4

Wednesday 16th January V Yateley Manor

 Under 11A Won 18-16

A disappointing match for spectators and players alike. Many basic skills seem to have been forgotten over the short Christmas break. With close defending from Yateley Manor, Eagle House had to work extremely hard for every goal. The teams were neck and neck until the final quarter when EH settled down and brought timing and spacing back into their game. An audible sigh of relief was heard from the sidelines!

Wednesday 28th November V Lambrook Haileybury

U11A Lost 13-12

U11B Lost

Wednesday 21st November V Hall Grove

U11A Won 15-12

Another good performance from this team. The defence are now working well together successfully incorporating set pieces into their game. The ball was moving smoothly down the court but timing is still a bit of an issue - good moves but slightly too early allowing the opposition to intercept the ball.  It was a most enjoyable game to watch with all the team playing with determination.

Coaches player of the match - Rosie Connors

U11B Drew 8-8

This team are working well together and it is demonstrated in their play. There was more determination and aggression this week to gain possesion of the ball. The attack worked hard around the circle backing up the shooters who did well popping in some lovely goals.

Player of the match - Jaya Baxter   Coaches player - Romy Attias

Wednesday 14th November V Yateley manor

U11A Won 9-18

U11B Lost 6-3

Wednesday 7th November V White House

U11A Lost 13-14

U11B Won 16-0

Wednesday 17th October v  St Andrew’s

U11A Drew 10-10

This was a very even game throughout with the lead changing hands many times. St.Andrew’s attack were very quick onto the ball whereas we seemed to lack drive and determination. Unfortunately our basic skills faltered and the girls looked tired.

The team has worked well this half-term and deserve a rest.

Wednesday 17th october V St Joseph's

U11B Lost 8-6

Saturday 13th October U11A v Highfield

Won 19-15

Player of the Match: Charlotte Earwaker     Coaches Player

This was a fast and furious game with EH dominating the first half. Quick movement in the attacking circle combined with  accurate defending and interceptions gave EH a three goal lead after two quarters. The team continued to put on the pressure with 8 accurate shots at goal. Highfield fought back in the last few minutes bringing the final score 19 – 15 to Eagle House. Well done girls, a most entertaining game.

Wednesday 10th October V Bishopsgate

Under 11 A won 14-6

Player of the Match- Kim Brant

LAN player of the match- Steffi Morgan

The under 11A’s continued there great season with another win against Bishopsgate on Wednesday. It was a well matched game with both teams playing some good netball.  During the first two quarters the scores remained fairly even with accurate and quick passes from both Eagle house and Bishopsgate. As we entered the third quarter there were some silly mistakes made by the eagle house team however the girls were still able to make breaks down the court and score and additional 3 goals. In the final quarter Eagle house calmed down their play, preventing any mistakes and producing some very skillful and well timed netball.  Well done to all the girls who played.

U11B Lost 14-9

Player of the match Eliza Hamilton-Fairley

This was a great game of netball to watch.  Although the Eagle House girls were fighting from behind for most of the game, the possession of the ball was pretty even.  Bishopsgate had a very slick attack and we found it difficult to intercept the quick passes into the circle.  However at times, Eagle House put together some excellent attacking play down court ending in some great shooting from Ellie (captain) and Romy.  Jaya was a great motivator for her team throughout the match.  Well done to all the girls - I enjoyed being your coach for this game due to your enthusiasm and positive attitudes.  LSP

Wednesday 19th September V St Piran's

Under 11 A won 20- 5

Player of the Match- Charlotte Earwaker

The Under 11 A continued their excellent play showing excellent skill and attitude during play.  This week showed a very skilful partner ship between GA and GS, Charlotte and Imogen, who both scored very highly. In the centre court there was brilliant timing of passes and of dodges which created lots of breaks forward to the attackers.

Under 11 B lost 10- 5

Player of the Match- Eliza

The Under 11 Bs may have lost their match however the game was very even with Eagle House playing some excellent netball. Eliza showed skilful dodging on court along with brilliant timing on the ball, and Romy’s movement in the ‘D’ continued to be strong throughout the match creating many goal opportunities. The girls played well so they should not be disheartened by their loss.

Wednesday 12th September v Marleston House

U11A Won 11-7

Team Player of the Match: Charlotte Earwaker

LAN Player of the Match: Kim Brant

The team started with an excellent game for the season.  Up to half time both teams played at an equal standard. Going in to the third quarter there was some outstanding defence from the Eagle House team with brilliant interceptions being made by all members of the team creating a turn over in centres.  The attacking players played skilfully making good use of the space on court managing to bring the final score to 11-7 to Eagle House.

U11B Won 5-0

Team Player of the Match: Alys Whitehead

LAN Player of the Match: Jayanna Baxter

The Bs got off to a slow start with even play in the central positions. In the second quarter the Eagle House team came alive working extremely well together.  There were some brilliant spaces created which led to some excellent shooting opportunities and both Ellie and Romy rose to the challenge and shot beautifully. There was outstanding play by all the girls to give a final score of 5-0 to Eagle House.
