Wednesday 14th march
U11 V Lambrooke Haileybury (Lost 2-0)
It turned out that the Lambrooke Haileybury girls were very friendly and we got on very well with them in the practice before the game. Ella, as captain, won the toss and the game got off to a good start with both teams playing hard and fighting for the ball. Despite our efforts Lambrooke Haileybury scored about half way through the first half. Mss Ross gave us some useful hints at half time so we could improve our tactics. Unfortunately, the LH captain scored again and we were unable to get one back. The opposition voted Sophie woman of the match for some fantastic saves. Despite the loss the team were happy and enjoyed the game.

Wednesday 31st January V St Piran’s (Lost 6-2)
Unfortunately with Sophie ill, we were missing a goaly. Cara (U10) bravely stood in, as facing the St Piran’s U13 girls must have been quite daunting! There were moments in the game where we looked fantastic. Thehela scored a great goal, taking the ball all the way from the half way line. Ella and Thehela worked well as a team to put a second away just after half time. However, for much of the time we looked a little shocked and scared! We need to work on upping the pace and improving communication among the team members. Let’s have a little team spirit girls!
Wednesday 17th January V Yateley Manor (Lost 2-3)
Bad luck girls! This was a really close game and had we met Yateley Manor later on in the season, I feel sure that the result would have gone our way. The opposition were all Year 7 and 8 and our team was largely made up of Year 6's. We started very tentatively, the stick work and tackling was good but positionally we were a little muddled. Sophie, in goal, was our saviour in the first half and thanks to the luck of the Irish (although noone on our team was Irish!) we weren't 20-0 down at half-time just 1-0! After a motivational half time talk from Miss Ross and some kicks and scouls from Miss Palmer, we came out fighting in the second half! Within two minutes Thehela(captain) had scored a fantastic goal taking the ball from the half way line. Yateley pulled ahead agian soon after but Eagle House were on the attack and some beautiful play from Ella gave Thehela another chance to put the ball in the net! At 2-2 with three minutes to go it all got a little tense! Unfortunately the Eagle House girls ran out of steam and although there was some dogged defending from Nicola, Yateley Manor scored a late winner. Chins up girls, we can win the next one!
