Eagle House U10's v Daneshill Wednesday 27th January 2010 Lost 1 - 0 Team: Emily Anichebe, Sophie Bignell-Edwards, Maeve Hutchinson, Josie Lunnun, Jessica Hill, Daisy Robinson, Amynta Rimmer, Charlotte Evershed, Dasha Angelova. Girl of the game - Sophie Bignell-Edwards Coaches girl of the game - Charlotte Evershed Wow girls, this was the best hockey performance Ii have seen from you all, and you really should have won this game by least 3 goals. As you yourselves will know that a couple of you missed three open shots on goal. Your defending skills have all improved and it is nice to see that most of you are remembering to keep your sticks down and to get in front of the ball so that the opposition find it hard to get past you. The big area for improvement which is needed is that you must not think you have got to get rid of the ball as soon as you have it.... it is not a hot potato! As soon as you have possession of the ball you need to look up and dribble the ball forwards, keeping control, not like you were all doing - just getting it and then whacking it, because it was on the very rare occasion it actually arrived on our own teams stick. If, for the next game, you can all try to keep control of the ball for at least 3 seconds before passing, I am sure it will make a great difference and help you drive into the attacking circle. Charlotte, a special mention for you, as you played brilliantly as goal keeper. Great movement out towards the ball and good kicking - well done!
