Wednesday 14th march

U10A V Lambrooke Haileybury (won 4-2)

This was a really exciting game to watch as the two teams were quite evenly matched.  The Eagle House girls fought hard for the ball and demonstrated some excellent stick skills.  Kim and Nancy were solid in defence with the Lambrooke girls nominating Kim as woman of the match. Charlotte also worked tirelessly in mid-field.  However the star of the game was Imogen who scored all four goals for Eagle House.  Well done girls, an excellent season of hockey.

U10B V Lambrooke Haileybury (Drew 1-1)

This was a closely fought game and an excellent way to end the season.  As the match went on, the Eagle House girls began to pass more effectively and move into space.  It was a shame that they couldn’t edge ahead with another goal.  Elllie was our gaol scorer and she was also nominated woman of the match.

Wednesday 7th March

U10A V St Joseph's (Won 6-2)

it was a lovely afternoon and particularly good to get the chance to play on astro-turf.  However, in the first half it felt as if the girls were just admiring the surroundings and appreciating the sun as they didn't really get stuck in.  It was 3-2 after the first half and the Eagle House girls were obviously lowering their game to the standard of the opposition.  However, they did wake up in the second half and begin to pass the ball more effectiviely and speed up their reactions.  Some fantastic goals were scored in the last five minutes of the game with Kim being solid in defence and Imogen and Charlotte working well together in the 'D'.

U10B V St Joseph's (Won 8-0)

There was some excellent play by all the girls, who attacked brilliantly and played well as a team.  A special mention goes to Romy, who was voted player of the match by the other team.  There was some great attacking play by Stephanie and Ashleigh and solid defence by Yuna and Alex, however all the girls worked hard.

Wednesday 21st February

U10 Team 1 V Daneshill (won 2-1)

U10 Team 2 V Daneshill (won 1-0)

A good game where we showed growing skill and a better tactical understanding.  We should have scored more goals!  The one we did score was scored by Siana (captain).  She and Jaya worked well together in attack and Eliza made some good runs down the wing.  We need to work on upping the pace a little and being more determination to keep possession of the ball.

Wednesday 31st January

U10A V St Piran’s (won 3-0)

U10B V St Piran’s (Drew 1-1)

The team played with much greater enthusiasm and with growing skill – All those hours on Games are paying off!  Siana played extremely tenaciously up front and there was some dogged defence from Nancy and Yuna.  Although we went 1-0 down in the first half, the girls battled on and had much more possession of the ball than their opposition.  Their passing out to the wing and crosses into the D were fantastic.  Jaya positioned herself well in order to score a great goal and make the score line more accurately reflect the game.  It was just a shame that we couldn’t clinch the winner.

Wednesday 17th January

U10A V Yateley manor (lost 1-0)

U10B V Yateley Manor (Lost 4-0)

Unfortunately the girls lost, but this was largely due to them feeling a little lost on a big hockey pitch when they have spent so long playing mathes on a small netball court!  There were some very good individual performances from Stephanie in both attack and defence, from Romy in defence, Yuna(captain) in goal and from Alys playing in mid-field.  Well done girls, we have lots to work on, but we will have you all looking more like a hockey team in no time.
