Match 2 - Wednesday, 5th December
Colts C v Aldro: LOST 0-5
A fixture mix-up meant that Aldro's Colts Bs arrived and so we had a battle on our hands! Eagle House boys stepped up to the plate and gave their all for this match and for the first 15 minutes kept the sharp-shooters from Shackleford at bay. There was some determined play from their attacking players but Ross Pawley-Kean was solid in goal and even though they scored, his effort cannot be faulted. Our defenders were a little wayward with their defending and this meant that some players were unmarked; a dangerous game to play! Great work from Charlie Waters who gives 100% to the game and from Man of the Match Harry Baldock. Harry was committed, put plenty of tackles in and tried to feed the Eagle House attacking players at every opportunity. By half time Aldro were 3 - 0 up but our effort was commendable.
The second half brought more determination and a change in keeper, Max Chawner-Davis. We started to get the ball forward and made one or two breaks that we just could not finish off. Adam Bailey was tireless in the attack as was Adam Robinson, they just could not find the killer blow. Aldro were keeping the pressure up and an unfortunate hand ball led to a penalty but the opposition could not score. They were to put two more goals past us but our team never gave up and Eoin O'Kane, the captain, worked hard in the defence. 5 - 0 sounds like a rout but it was not. This team played well and made some great chances. Well done boys.

Match 1 - Wednesday, 21st November
Colts C v Cranleigh: 2-2 DRAW (G: Adam Bailey, Reece Williams)
This was an exciting game between two evenly-matched teams. We played in a 4-4-2 formation and pushed deep into the Cranleigh half from the outset, with Adam Bailey scoring a good goal. Cranleigh became better organised as the first half continued and, aided by some poor defending on our part, they managed to equalise. In the second half Cranleigh built up momentum and they scored again. The score-line could have been even more adverse were it not for Max Chawner-Davis in goal. He made a couple of excellent saves to keep us in the game. In the last quarter I changed our formation to 4-3-3 in an all-out attempt to score. We set up camp in the Cranleigh half and twice came close to scoring, before Reece Williams managed to slot home our equaliser. Honours even against Cranleigh this term!
This is a game we could have won. We were good going forward, but our defence was at fault for the first Cranleigh goal and this is an area we need to work on in the training sessions. Also, we conceded two indirect free kicks in our penalty area from back-passes to the goalkeeper. This is a difficult rule for children to comprehend, but nevertheless we must be more careful in our next match.
Honours even against Cranleigh this term!
The team: Max Chawner-Davis; Saran Brar; Odise Vila; Jonny Cope; Adam Robinson; Harry Baldock; Oscar Gaff; Charlie Waters; Reece Williams; Adam Bailey; Eoin O'Kane (c); Charlie Riddell; Charlie Saxby; Matthew Stuart.
