An unbeaten season - Played 3, Won 2, Drawn 1 Wednesday, 6th December: Colts C v Aldro2-1 WIN (Tom Surrall 2)It was the last match of the season...we were playing an all-Year 6 Aldro team...we kicked-off late in the day...AND WE WON!!! We out-played Aldro and Tom Surrall scored two excellent goals. We were unlucky to concede a goal on the stroke of half-time, when goalkeeper Max Chawner-Davis caught the ball but carried it into his own net. Julius Manton-Jones played very well and a special mention must go to Eoin O'Kane who was on the receiving end of some bruising tackles and still managed to run rings around much of the opposition. Wednesday, 29th November: Under 10B v Daneshill 3-2 WIN (Luke Orechoff 2, Eoin O'Kane)This was an Under 10 eight-a-side match, but I brought a squad of twelve players. The pitch was small and tight, so everyone had to work hard and players could not simply wait around for a scoring opportunity. We conceded an early goal, but pleasingly this spurred us on and we equalised before half-time through Eoin O'Kane. In the second half, Luke Orechoff scored two excellent goals; one of these was a rebound off the post and the other a shot from a corner. Daneshill scored with five minutes to go, but we held our nerve and won - Mr Mono's first victory as a coach this season! This was a very exciting match and we were 30 seconds away from winning when a speculative Cranleigh shot from just inside our half curled its way past Connor Kent-Payne in goal. Nevertheless, as we lost 13-0 to the same opposition last year (!), this is a most pleasing result. Reece Williams scored a great hat-trick and there was some excellent defending from Aaron Sekwalor. Well done to the team.
