Wednesday 22nd November 2006 v Cranleigh (Away) Lost 2-4

This being the first match on our short season and when one considers how few football games sessions that there have been, the result came as no real surprise. Cranleigh dominated long stretches of the first half and kept us pinned back in our own half. With three goals conceded it seemed that we were in for a tough afternoon. Just before half time we broke through and at last found the net. This gave the team confidence and we found ourselves finally tackiling better, passing the ball and making ground. Though we conceded yet another goal early in the second half, this did not dampen our spirits and our second goal soon followed. Throughout the rest of the second half we were chasing that elusive third goal but good defence and attacks by Cranleigh prevented us from achieving that goal. Overall a poor first half was followed by an improved second.

Saturday 25th November 2006 v Sunningdale.(Away) Cancelled due to bad weather.

Saturday 2nd Decemberr 2006 v Highfield (Away) won 5-0

Though this was not beautiful football, it was good to see a strong performance and a victory by this team. Playing up hill in the first half was difficult and the game was evenly balanced at half time with only one goal having been conceeded. Both teams had had their opportunities. In the second half we dominated the game completely with the opposition rarely breaking into our own half. Time after time we attacked while our back four stood their ground on the half way mark.A further four goals followed, one of which hit the post and seemed to be rebouding back out before swerving into the goal. Many opportunites to score came our way and by the end the opposition looked tired. Overall a good performance.

Wednesday 6th December 2006 v Aldro (Away) lost 0-9

This was not enjoyable match as we played poor football. Though the opposition deserved their one goal lead at half time, we had the opportunity in the second half to stop the rot and turn the game around. We had some reasonable players yet so many passes went astray. Tackling was nonexsistent. Postional play was quite good yet there was no support for each other.Unfortunatley we did not improve in the second half, and what the coach had warned may happen in the second half if there was no change, actually happened. The situation went from bad to worse. This was not a great way to finish the short season on.
