v Cranleigh 4th May
On a beautiful sunny afternoon the boys headed across to Cranleigh for an action packed afternoon of cricket. We had already agreed that we would play pairs cricket so that all the children on both sides had an opportunity to bat and bowl. In total we had twelve children and Cranleigh had thirteen. During the course of the afternoon all the children, on both sides, entered into the spirit of the afternoon which was designed to give them the chance to be 'out in the middle' and bat and bowl against children from another school. All the children who played acquitted themselves well. They were keen in the field and there were two stunning catches taken by Ketak and Xavier during the afternoon. The batting stars for us during were Freddie and Cameron who combined well together and were the third highest scorers during the afternoon, with Freddie also being the second highest individual scorer. Oliver kept wicket very capably and both Xavier and Conrad were superb in the field. All in all the boys should be very proud of their performances on the field, particularly as they have had less than 2 hours of practice so far!
The following children played: Joe Belcher, Ketak Chaudrai, Frank Turley, Gonzales Eizaguirre, Oliver Crosby, Conrad Orleans-Lindsay, Alex Gladen, James Saunders, Cameron Forkes, Freddie Hindley, Xavier Gordon-Brown, william Morrison.
