THIS WILL ALSO BE CIRCULATED IN THE EAGLE WITH FULL DETAILS OF ALL ARRANGEMENTS. Wessex Athletics - Monday 13th June 2011 This event brings together some 30 schools from the Wessex region all trying to get qualification to the National Prep Schools Finals in Birmingham in July. We took along our talented athletes for a great day of athletics at the Bournemouth Athletics Centre. Being able to run in a stadium with great facilities is a boost to any athlete and all of our team performed very well. We achieved qualification in 3 events. Adam Robinson won the 800 metres in a time of 2.21.8 . Jenny Edwards finished second overall in the U14 Girls 100m and the U14 Girls relay team finished second overall. Sven Winkler came third in the U13 Boys Long Jump, jumping 4.51 metres and Amynta Rimmer came 4th in the finals of the Girls U12 200 metres. All athletes gave their all and although it was a long day we were delighted with the team's performances. The U14 Girls Relay team finished off our day in a very exciting final and just missed out in first place. Athletics Meeting at Yateley Manor - Friday 20th May 2011 A sunny afternoon saw us at Yateley Manor with a team of runners, jumpers and throwers. This was a friendly event and no points were awarded but times and distances were taken. There were some very impressive performances and the girls once again showed their power and skill in several events. The boys also did well in several events. The U14 Girls' 100m Relay team were superb and ended the afternoon in style. Thanks to Yateley Manor for an enjoyable and well organised afternoon.
Eagle House Athletics Meeting - Thursday 12th May 2011 This was the first fixture for the athletics team this season. Our annual track and field event is always an exciting meet. Lambrook, Papplewick and Hall Grove joined us for a great afternoon of competition. There were some very good individual performances and Eagle House won the Girls competition and the boys came second in theirs. Strong performances in the sprints from the girls and the boys performed well in the middle distances. Team captains, Adam Robinson ran a superb 1500m, and Jenny Edwards powered her way to an impressive win in the 100m race.
