U8/U9/U10 & U11 v Crosfields
Thursday 30 April
This was our first gala in the newly renovated swimming pool and many thanks must go to the parents and the EHA for their hard work in raising funds to complete stage 1 of the pools refurbishment. The pool and surround looks stunning!
For such an auspicious occassion our pupils performed brilliantly and great credit should go to all our swimmers. Crosfields were exemplary guests and proved stern opposition for us and I would like to thank them for their efforts in making this such a great gala. I would also like to thank the Crosfields swimming coaches and our own coaches, Alison Hufton, Richard Barron and Brent O'Connor for their help in the running of the gala.
33 pupils from Eagle House competed and every one tried their utmost. Of course special mention will go to those who won or nearly won their races, however every pupil played their part and must share the credit for the fantastic team performances.

ST. JOHN'S BEAUMONT SCHOOL
FRIDAY 6TH MARCH 2009
The IAPS Squad
Sydney Waters (Year 5)
Sophia Wallis, Tanaquille Manton-Jones, Lily Rowlands & Ashley Inglis (Year 6 Girls)
Adam Bailey, Noah Walton, Charlie Saxby & Lewis Riddell (Year 6 Boys)
Chloe James (Year 8)
Tom Surrall (Capt), Josh Blosse, Hugo Rivas De Anta & Tom Johnson (Year 8 Boys)
We entered 9 individual events and 6 relay events at the IAPS Regional meeting at St John's Beaumont School in Old Windsor on Friday 6th March.
All our pupils performed extremely well with a number achieving personal best times.
The pick of our individual swimmers were Sophia Wallis in the U11 Girls 50m Freestyle and Noah Walton in the U11 Boys 50m Breaststroke race who both achieved first places.
Adam Bailey (U11 Boys 50m Freestyle), Joshua Blosse (U13 Boys 50m Freestyle) and Tom Surrall (U13 Boys 50m Butterfly) came second in their races while Sydney Waters (U10 Backstroke) and Chloe James (U13 Freestyle) came third against boys in their races and achieved excellent times.
In the relays, the U11 Girls Freestyle relay team won their race and performed superbly. Their time was only a second off our U13 Boys Freestyle Team's time!!
Now, we must wait for their times to be compared to those in the other Regional events.
The Nationals await for those with the top 12 times in the country! Last year Sophia got to the finals and made the top 3!
Fingers crossed again....and for more from Eagle House to make it!
