Match 1 Wellington 6 Eagle House 1

Match 2 Wellington 3 Eagle House 4

This was a very enjoyable match and excellent experience for both sides. It was closely contested and the Wellington boys played in the right spirit throughout. They deserve tremendous credit for that and the result. I hope that our boys will have learned from the experience. We must watch the ball all the time and make sure that we move our feet and plant them solidly before playing the shot DOWN THE SIDES AND NEVER INTO THE MIDDLE.

the second match was much closer and we seemed to be benefiting from the experience of the first set of games.

All of our boys deserve a pat on the back for trying as hard as they did. Next week is another game.

Eagle House 6 St Mary's Ascot 0

This was the first outing for the girl's from St Mary's, with the idea of improving through competition and both teams did improve their squash as the matches progressed. On their lovely courts, it was good to seeEagle House generally try to control the width and the length of their shots. There is af course much still that needs to be practised and we will work on.

Eagle House 5 Charters School (Under 13) 1

This was a slightly easier outing that in previous terms. Their one county player caused quite a few concerns for Mohammed, and Robert in the second round, but the other Eagle House players encountered few real difficulties. Next term, both schools will try to balance their teams so that the matches are competitive and beneficial for both sides.

Eagle House 6 St Mary's Ascot 0

Had we played this St Mary's team last term, we may well have struggled to get the result, but in the same way that St Mary's girls have improved so have our boys and girl. The result was fair, but the games were much closer as often we lost our discipline to work the ball down the sides from a solid foot base. Still a win is a win, and the end to this term's matches as the match at Wellington has been cancelled as there would not have been any players available, as hockey matches were then booked on the same day.

Thank you to those who have supported the club over the last couple of years and to Steve Meads for his unfailing good humour. I hope that some of those year 8s who will not be playing next term so that the next group can start will continue to work at their game at their senior schools.

Played 5 won 4 lost 1  (pf 22 pa 10)

Colours were awarded to Mohammed Rubbani and half colours were awarded to Robert Phillips
