Eagle House 3 lost to Charters 5.
This was the strongest side that Charters have brought down since we started this fixture four years ago and we allowed them to outplay us technically and tactically in the majority of cases. If the opposition prove to be stronger we must not panic but take our time to move our feet and play the ball thoughtfully and sensibly. There is no point in trying to hit the ball as hard as you can if it just goes into the middle. Similarly, we must all make sure that we do not waste winning positions and fight for every point through to the end.
There were wins for Richard Morgan and George Wilks, and Adam Dewes came back from one game down to win 2-1. All players showed some of what they can do, but perhaps a little more thought around the court and in a couple of cases a little more heart would have been beneficial. We will see what happens next Thursday in the rearranged fixture against Wellington Yearlings.
