A great improvement from last week girls well done! Unfortunately, we did lose however, this is one of closest and toughest matches you have had this term. You worked very well as a team and made some excellent short and accurate passes. In training we have worked hard on receiving the centre pass and I felt that you had really taken on board what we have been practicing.
The game was quite scrappy at times with us not fully taking advantage of the open space. Next time I would like to see you creating space in areas of the court that are free in order to move down the court towards the goal more effectively.

This wasn’t our best match we have played! Even though we won it was a very scrappy game with us making some very simple mistakes and giving away free passes. We had a lot of possession of the ball, however, we really seemed to struggle to make short and quick passes to the shooters.
Overall, it was a very slow game and we really need to put into practice in matches what we have learnt during training. Remember to create space by dodging passed your opponent and then do short and quick passes between players rather than sloppy overhead ones.
Good luck for the next game girls!

Well done girls!
You managed to brave the cold and snow to play a great netball match. We dominated the first half of the match giving Kaisey and Emily plenty of chances to score as many goals as possible. Unfortunately in the 3rd quarter we appeared to lose our concentration and therefore this meant that Lambrook played some excellent netball which made our defence work very hard.
I was very pleased to see that you worked well as a team and creating space to pass the ball. This is something we have been working on in training so it is clear that you have been listening to the advice given and implementing it. We still have some areas to work on, for example, we often get pulled up for contact and footwork. This gives away lots of free passes which can easily be avoided.
Overall, a good game girls keep up the hard work.
Eagle House Under 11 'B' 10 Highfield Under 11 'B' 5
There are some Saturdays when BBC One at Cardiff in the company of a glass of amber nectar may sound a little more attractive than the weather forecast of showers and the results excessive sugar intake at the Grotto. However, right from the first whistle the girls showed the benefit of practising hard as they did with Mrs Nolan yesterday, putting the opposition under pressure and winning much fifty-fifty ball. Lucky and Eleanor ran and ran and so they controlled the centre quarters and their passing was flat and powerful to link up with Claudia, and thence with Kaisey and Emily. These front pair really did work well together and seemed to have that little bit extra time that enabled them to drive into a deserved first quarter lead. When the opposition did gain possession Alex and Issie marked their opposite numbers tightly to limit Highfield to just one score.
We were lucky to have three substitutes and these we rotated on during the three remaining quarters. As a result players were playing out of their usual position and it took us a little time at the start or each period to readjust our game and regain the movement and speed of pass that had served us so well initially. Nevertheless, Nellie, Jemima and Lola rotated in well, each winning valuable possession to move on. Lola especially looked solid in defence, marking tightly as per yesterday's practice.
As the final score suggests, this was good entertainment, whether it was better than that at the Park, I will find out later, but every one of these players, and indeed those from Highfield, deserve a pat on the back, a good soak in the bath and the rugby highlights. Have a restful Sunday as it is.....
Hockey away on Wednesday, but the same rules apply: stay or get into space, work and run hard and pass the ball with speed and pass.

What a storming first quarter, you really looked on fire as you raced into a 3 - 0 lead in the first 7 minutes. Excellent movement of the ball in and out of the circle so that you could get closer to the post, and then finishing off with 3 accurate shots.
We certainly had the height advantage in our defending circle which helped us intercept quite a few of the feeds in from St Georges, and as I mentioned yesterday, we could have got many more if we remembered to jump instead of just standing still on tip toes trying to reach for the ball. You all have knees... so lets bend them and then spring up and snatch in that ball.
Thanks to Miss Clarke who helped me navigate to all the wrong places, and to Georgia's mum for being a great supporter on the sideline..... eventually!! We are glad you made it.

Well done girls you played a great match!
We knew we were going to have to work hard playing against Eton Ends U11 A team and the game lived up to expectations. We had a good start to the match by scoring the first goal and this continued throughout the first quarter with some excellent passes. It is clear to see that as the weeks of training have progressed we have become increasingly better with creating space and dodging our opposition which has generated a much faster pace to our matches.
Eton End kept us on our toes with some excellent play, interceptions and shots of a goal. They were very consistent with their footwork and marking which are some skills we need to improve upon. However, on the whole this is one of the best matches I have seen the girls play.
This was a great game to watch as both teams were evenly matched throughout- keep it up next week girls!

Well done girls what a great match! For the third week in a row we worked together beautifully. You all started the game really motivated and strong, moving into space and straight away commanded possession of the ball.
We had a few pull ups of players being off-side and obstruction- which we need to work on as it gave easy free passes to Hall Grove. However, we did improve this as each quarter progressed and Hall Grove struggled to get the pass through our strong defensive unit.
Our shooters were much more consistent and successful with their shooting which was excellent as the rest of the team worked hard to pass the ball up to them. But keep practicing girls and well done!

A disappointing final score girls as we should have been able to match the consistent goal score from Cranleigh. We played very well as a team and marked our opposition well however, we must keep looking out to create space rather than run directly to the person who is looking to pass the ball.
We manage to intercept some great passes from Cranleigh on numerous occasions and keep possession of the ball right up to the goal. We just need to work on converting these excellent shoots in our semi- circle into points.
We had great team spirit and ensured everyone was involved in the game- keep this up in future games!

Welcome back!
We had a great start to the season considering some girls in the team were completely new to netball. The girls played with determination and worked very hard on keeping possession of the ball. The match was a little messy at times with some girls not marking their players closely enough which unfortunately meant that Feltonfleet managed to intercept some passes and have a go at shooting for a goal.
As this was our first match of the season I moved a lot of the girls around into different positions to see who played the best in defence and attacking. This allowed some girls who had never played netball before to jump in and have a go and they all played very well with some excellent passes between players.
We have some areas to work on regarding footwork and gaining balance before passing the ball to a team mate but on the whole the girls played very well. Well done!
