Match v Lambrook Haileybury
Wednesday 26th June 2.30 pm Away
Eagle House won by 6 wickets
Lambrook Haileybury 106 for the loss of 18 wickets
Eagle House 108 for the loss of 4 wickets
The Colts C's played very well in this, our final game of the season. Lambrook Haileybury won the toss and batted first. All the Colts C's bowled except for Adam Bailey who had an excellent match wicket keeper. Our bowling was good, with some excellent spells from a number of players. Luke Orechoff took 2 wickets for 10 runs, took a very sharp catch and threw a run-out, James Fowlie also got 2 wickets for 15 runs and dazzled with some brilliant fielding to deny a number of fours. George Arnold-Wallinger took 1 wicket for 2 runs, Karl, 1 wicket for 5 runs and Adam Robinson took 1 wicket for 9 runs. despite these fantastic figured, Lambrook Haileybury scored 106 runs in their 20 overs. But we were confident (well I was) that we could win.
After tea we batted and started very well with wickets falling at 25 runs, 57 runs and 64 runs. James Fowlie stayed the course from opening batsman to finishing 38 not out. Then the runs dried up as Lambrook Haileybury bowled some very good line and length balls. The target of 68 runs looked more and more difficult to reach. James Folwie was told to 'get going' and he duly responded. Just as well as we won with one ball to spare on the innings!
This was a very close and well fought match and congratulations should go to both teams!
Match v Horris Hill
Wednesday 11th June 2.30 pm Away
20 over Game won by Horris Hill
Eagle House 46 for the loss of 10 wickets
Horris Hill 50 for the loss of 0 wickets
The Colts C's tried very hard in this 20/20 game but struggled to bat well at all.
We won the toss and elected to bat first. We started well, but an early run-out disrupted our rhythm and we could not recover. Tristan Abery with 9 runs and Luke Orechoff with 7 runs were our best run scorers. However, a number of our players reverted to old and bad habits under pressure and we lost a great deal of wickets because boys insist on lifting their heads and swinging across their wicket at the wrong time. Although we lasted for 18 overs and a number f batsmen were in for a substantial time, we lacked the power and technique to attack wide or slow balls.
So, our bowlers had a mountain to climb with keeping Horris Hill to below 47 runs. Our bowling was good and although we did not get nay wickets, we held the Horris Hill opening batsmen to a very low run rate. They reached 46, to level the scores, after 16 overs and then took a further over to hit the winning 4 runs. Overall our fielding was strong and Isaac Herring was very good with the ball today, varying his bowls with pace and spin to make it very difficult for the Horris Hill batsmen to make any runs in his overs.
C's, we have one match to go. Lets end our season on a high!
Colts C v Moulsford
Saturday 7th June 2.30 pm Home
20 Overs Match Lost by 6 wickets
Eagle House 90 for 8
Moulsford 91 for 4 (Karl Akunwa 2 for 6, George Arnold-Wallinger 1 for 4, James Fowlie 1 for 6)
Those who played: George Arnold-Wallinger, Adam Bailey, Lewis Riddell, Adam Robinson, James Fowlie, Noah Walton, Karl Akunwa,
Oscar Gaff, Jonathan Cope, Isaac Herring, Eoin O'Kane.
On a glorious day and accompanied by the sound of an orchestra preparing for tonight's fireworks at Wellington College these two sides took to the field. Eagle House got off to a sound start as Isaac and George set about building a platform for the rest of the team to build on. However, once this partnership was broken we lost wickets on a regular basis due to some fine bowling and fielding by Moulsford. Some sensible batting by the dogged James Fowlie saw us reach the respectable of 90 runs after our 20 overs.
Moulsford set out to chase this total and were soon in trouble as Karl Akunwa and George Arnold-Wallinger bowled tight opening spells which reduced the opposition to 3 wickets for only 11 runs. James Fowlie then continued the good work and he also produced a tight couple of overs and in the process managed to dismiss another Moulsford batsman. At tea the score was 33 for 4 after 8 overs. After tea things did not go as well as they might have done for Eagle House and some rather wayward bowling meant that in the end Moulsford did not lose another wicket and rather galloped away with the game and it was only Noah Walton and James cope who managed to bowl tightly enough.
The game was played in excellent spirits by both sides, even to the extent that both sides had to tie up the shoe laces of one of the opposition and in each case the laces were tied correctly and not to the laces of the other shoe! All in all it was a wonderful afternoon's cricket and both sides deserve much praise for the sportsmanship and encouragement that was given throughout the afternoon. Well done to all who took part.

Colts C v Aldro
Saturday 10th May 2.30 pm Away
20 Overs Match Won by 69 runs
Eagle House 138 for 5 (George arnold-Wallinger 25, Charlie Waters 18, Charlie Riddell 16)
Aldro 69 all out (Charlie Riddell 3 for 5, Lewis Riddell 2 for 19, James Fowlie 2 for 2, Jonathan Cope 1 for 1, Charlie Waters 1 for 2)
Those who played:George Arnold-Wallinger, Charlie Riddell, Lewis Riddell, James Fowlie, Adam Bailey, Noah Walton, Karl Akunwa, Jonathan Cope, Charlie Waters, Tristan Abery & Daniel Cook
The Colts C's batted first having won the toss as very light rain began to fall. The wicket held up well and 138 runs were knocked up in our 20 overs after a good batting display from George, James and Adam, although a number of wides and byes made the score a generous one to us.
Into the bowling and Aldro started well with 37 runs off the first 5 overs. Then the wickets began to fall and the Riddell brothers bowled without mercy. Aldro worked very hard against us and were resolute to the end, but with one boy less to bat due to an illness half way through the match, Aldro were unable to match our score. WELL DONE BOYS.
Result: Win to eagle House by 69 runs.
Colts C v Crosfields
Wednesday 14th May 2.30 pm Away
20 Overs Match Won by 10 wickets
Crosfields 54 for 7 (Luke Orechoff 3 for 6, Isaac Herring 1 for 5, George Arnold-Wallinger 1 for 18, James Fowlie 2 for 12)
Eagle House 55 for 0 (Zeus Sekwalor 30 retd, Herring 10 retd, George Arnold-Wallinger 6 not out, James Fowlie 3 not out)
Those who played:George Arnold-Wallinger,Zeus Sekwalor, Isaac Herring, Luke Orechoff, James Fowlie, Adam Bailey, Odise Vila, Charlie Waters , Rudy Singh, Matthew Stuart & Saranveer Brar
The Colts C played superbly well in this game. The bowling was excellent and Crosfields could not capitalise on a good 'flix pitch' wicket.
Zeus and Isaac went about the 54 total with venom and retired for George and James to make the final runs. A very good team performance.
Result: Win to Eagle House by 10 wickets
Colts C v Ludgrove
Saturday 10th May 2.30 pm Away
20 Overs Match Lost by 12 runs
Ludgrove 98 for 6 (Zeus Sekwalor 1 for 2, George Arnold-Wallinger 2 for 17, Noah Walton 2 for 20, Robin Vonchek 1 for 15)
Eagle House 86 for 9 (Adam Bailey 18, Zeus Sekwalor 13)
Those who played:George Arnold-Wallinger,Zeus Sekwalor, Charlie Riddell, Luke Orechoff, James Fowlie, Adam Bailey, Noah Walton, Robin Vonchek, Connor Kent-Payne, Ben Moore & Oscar Gaff
The Colts C played in a 20/20 match and were a slightly weakened side to the one against Cranleigh as a number of players were away. However, undaunted, the Colts C played well and battled all the way in another close game.
Again, we lost the toss and Ludgrove batted first. Our bowling was very good today, but 4 catches were dropped and there were one or two other catch opportunities that were not taken. We managed to bowl 5 of them out for a total of 98 after 20 overs.
Once again, we had a good total to reach to win. George Arnold-Wallinger and Zeus Sekwalor opened for the Colts C's. After an initially good start, George found himself bowled out, however Zeus and James Fowlie proceeded to pile on the runs until Zeus was run out. Enter Adam Bailey. In the match against Cranleigh, Adam and James had a very good partnership and today saw an even better example of excellent batting, calling and running. Both boys saw a weakness in the Ludgrove fielding and ran almost everything, putting so much pressure on the fielders that more runs were inevitable from byes and miss throws.
Good things must come to an end though and after a partnership of 22 runs, both boys found themselves run out and our following batsmen, although trying hard and running well could not attack the Ludgrove bowlers or intimidate the fielders enough to win the game. The Colts C's finished on 86 for 9 wickets.
Result: Win to Ludgrove by 12 runs.
Colts C v Cranleigh
Wednesday 7th May 2.30 pm Away
25 Overs Match Won by 5 wickets
Cranleigh 161 for 4 (Robin Vonchek 1 for 13, Charlie Riddell 1 for 14, James Fowlie 1 for 15, Noah Walton 1 for 22)
Eagle House 162 for 5 (Zeus Sekwalor 35, George Arnold-Wallinger 28)
Those who played:Max Chawner-Davis, Isaac Herring, George Arnold-Wallinger,Zeus Sekwalor, Charlie Riddell, Luke Orechoff, James Fowlie, Adam Bailey, Noah Walton, Robin Vonchek, Jonny Cope
The Colts C team played brilliantly in an excellent match of cricket.
We played a 25 overs match, which meant that everyone could bowl 2 overs. Cranleigh won the toss and batted first. Our bowling was good and the fielding tight. George Arnold-Wallinger bowled very well and Noah Walton, Robin Vonchek, Charlie Riddell and James Fowlie each got wickets. One of their pupils scored an amazing 100 not out and they set a target of 161.
The Colts C's were still confident that we could surpass this very large total. A small change was made to the batting order and Isaac Herring and Zeus Sekwalor opened the batting. We needed runs and we needed to get a good start if we were to reach the target set by Cranleigh. The boys did not let us down with 46 runs between them, Isaac scoring 11 and Zeus scoring 35. Adam Bailey and James Fowlie put on a very good partnership also, with very good calling and running between the wickets. Max Chawner-Davis batted well too, before he was run-out. The overs seemed to tick by at a furious rate and with the scores close with a few overs remaining, everyone was on the edge of their seat! We ran singles and persevered well, without throwing wickets away recklessly and we reached the winning total of 162 with 2 overs remaining.
Result: Win to Eagle House by 5 wickets.
Colts C v Caldicott
Saturday 26th April 2.30 pm Home
20 Overs Match Won by 12 runs
Eagle House 100 for 4 (Zeus Sekwalor 40)
Caldicott 88 for 7 (George Arnold-Wallinger 3 for 1, Noah Walton 2 for 7)
Those who played:George Arnold-Wallinger,Zeus Sekwalor, Charlie Riddell, Luke Orechoff, James Fowlie, Odise Vila, Noah Walton, Karl Akunwa,
Robin Vonchek, Oscar Gaff, Daniel Cook.
This was the team's first outing of the season, having had the previous match cancelled due to bad weather. So it was on a beautiful, bright sunny day Eagle House won the toss and chose to bat in what was to be a 20 overs a side game. George and Zeus got the team off to the perfect start as they created a good opening partnership which was eventually broken withe George being run out. Zeus now took control of the game and he proceeded to hit some mighty blow, including a straight six over long on. When he was eventually out for a well constructed 40 runs he had created the perfect platform for the side to go on and compile a high total which the opposition would find difficult to achieve. Caldicott's bowlers came back into the game now as the Eagle House boys were reluctant to take them on in the same manner as the previous batsmen, only Luke was willing to chance his arm a little in the chase to score runs and before he was out for 16runs he had hit three boundaries, sadly his were to be the last as the side only managed to score 2 runs in the last three overs.
Coming out to field the side got off to the perfect start with George following up his batting performance by bowling his frst two overs for no runs and at the same time managing to capture two Caldicott wickets. Karl opened the bowling with George and he too also captured an opposition batsman in his opening spell. Noah came on as first change and continued to bowl the same tight line that the openers had done and it was not long before he too was amongst the wickets, eventually completing his maximum 4 overs for just 7 runs and in the process taking 2 wickets. With Robin also taking a wicket and James and Luke also having a bowl it was left to George to ensure that the Eagle House total was not passed as he was given the dubious responsibility of bowling the last over, a job he did with no little skill.
Winning the first match of the season is always a pleasing achievement and the boys deserve great credit for the way they fielded throughout the afternoon in order to back up the work of the bowlers. The afternoon was played in excellent spirit and both teams deserve much credit for the way they conducted themselves during the afternoon.
